The Visscher story begins over four decades ago in the deepest forests of Canada's most rugged province, British Columbia. In 1961, the four young Visscher brothers founded a retail lumber yard in the Fraser Valley town of Chilliwack. By the late 1970's, Visscher Lumber switch to a remanufacturing operation, and in 1976 the brothers opened a metal forming plant. Today, the Visscher Family of Companies also operates two wood processing plants in Chilliwack with four kilns for on-site drying of lumber. On-site warehouses as well as worldwide representation ensure a steady supply of wood products for markets in North America, Europe and the Pacific Rim.
