Host An End Of Summer Party

An End-of-Summer Party can be a fun idea for your kids or even as an adult-only party. A good time to host a kid’s party is around the time school starts. It would be a great celebration after the first week of school. Another option is to host it in September the weekend before or after the First Day of Autumn.

Whether the party is for the kids or the grown-ups we have similar ideas on how to celebrate. The first thing you need is a beautiful day - lots of sun! If you are celebrating the end of summer you should be outside in your backyard the entire day. Whether it’s a kids’ party or you have some adult friends who like to act like kids — plan lots of activities like:

  • Limbo

  • Lawn bowling

  • Bags/Cornhole

  • Set up a sprinkler if it’s a nice day

  • Water balloons

If you are lucky enough to have a pool, pool volleyball or hoops is always fun.

Nothing makes a party quite like food and drink. For beverages, fresh-squeezed lemonade and mocktails would be a fun treat for kids. They’ll feel all grown-up sipping their drink — but don’t forget the crazy straws! For food we suggest all of the summer favorites: burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon. This party is about getting the last few drops of summer so enjoy the foods that make summer, well, summer.

Most importantly, enjoy your time outdoors with your closest friends and family.
