Teak will turn silver-gray in 9-12 months on average, depending on the climate.

Kingsley Bate recommends cleaning teak furniture at least twice annually. To clean: Hose down, scrub furniture with soft bristle brush & a solution of 2/3 cup laundry detergent & 1/4 cup bleach in 1 gallon of warm water, then rinse with fresh water. For difficult stains, we recommend Kingsley Bate teak cleaner. The cleaner will remove the silver-gray patina & restore the furniture to its original golden color.

To maintain the golden color, on should apply KB teak protector once per season.

Storage: May be left outside all year round without furniture cover.

Checking may occur over time, small cracks or fissures that are caused by the wood expanding and contracting due to moisture absorption. As teak weather, the grain may lift, causing the smoothness to disappear. As the teak ages, the smoothness will return.
